how we look after your details
Privacy notice
What we collect when you visit Aurre or join the Aurre Circle, why, who helps us look after it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We’ve kept it as plain as we can. If anything is unclear, just ask.

Until we launch. While we test the site, Zoho SalesIQ and PageSense run for every visitor from the moment you arrive, not only once you say yes as described below. You can switch them off at any time from Cookie settings, at the foot of every page.

- Tracking only if you say yesNothing follows you around the site unless you accept cookies, and the site works just as well if you don’t.

Who we are
Aurre is a modest womenswear brand, founded by Suha and run from the United Kingdom. [The business’s legal name and registered address.]
We’re responsible for your information and decide how it’s used. The law calls this being its controller.
For anything about your information, email hello@aurre.co.uk. We’re a small team, so your message comes straight to us.
What we collect
When you join the Circle
Your first and last name, email address, date of birth and usual length (52, 54, 56 or 58 inches, or not sure yet). We also note when you joined, the page you joined from, and how you found us, such as the post or creator whose link brought you, or the member who sent you hers.
In your welcome email you can also tell us, if you’d like to, the occasions you’re dressing for, the colours you love and your Instagram handle.
When you share your say on the collection
Your thoughts on each design, such as whether you’d wear it, what feels fair for the set and what you love about it.
And what you tell us about yourself, such as where you buy modest wear now and from which shops, where you come across new pieces, what you usually spend on an outfit for an occasion, the details and fabrics you love, how you like the fit, when you wear pieces like these, what’s hardest to get right, and when you shop for Ramadan and Eid. Only your details at the end are needed. Every other question is up to you.
When you write to us or chat with us
What you tell us, and your name and email if you give them, whether you write by email, through the chat on our site, or on Instagram or Facebook Messenger.
When you read our emails
Whether you opened each email, and which of its links you clicked, so we know which letters are worth writing. We ask for your permission for this when you join.
When you visit the site
Like every website, ours receives some technical information from your browser so it can send you the pages, such as your IP address, your device and browser, and the page you asked for. Our host uses it to deliver the site and keep it secure, and counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.
If you accept cookies, we also see how the site is used, and roughly where you are (your town or city, worked out from your IP address). There’s more in Cookies and your device.
What we don’t collect
We don’t take payments yet, so we hold no card or bank details. We don’t ask about your religion, your health, your ethnicity or anything as personal, and we don’t use your answers to guess at them. Please keep details like these out of notes and chats.
Why we use it
The law asks us to have a reason, called a lawful basis, for each way we use your information. Here is each one.
| Why | What we use | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| To run your membership, from your Circle card and Suha’s letters to the first look at each collection and pre-ordering in your length | Your name, email, date of birth and length | Your consent, given when you join. You can leave at any time |
| To check you’re 16 or over | Your date of birth | Your consent, as part of joining |
| To decide what we make, from the designs, colours and details to how many of each length and what each set costs | Your survey answers, your length and your age group, from your date of birth | Your consent, given when you send your answers. We look at answers together, in groups, never to decide anything about you |
| To see which letters are read, and make them better | Whether you open our emails, and the links you click | Your consent, given when you join |
| To know which posts, creators and members bring women to Aurre, so we spend our time well and can thank the members who share us | The link that brought you, and who referred you | Our legitimate interests. You can object at any time |
| To answer you | What you tell us in emails and chats | Our legitimate interests in replying to you |
| To remember you on the device you joined on, so the site greets you rather than asking you to join again | Your details, kept only on your device | Our legitimate interests. It’s part of the membership you asked for |
| With your permission, to see how the site is used and make it better | The pages you visit, where you click and scroll, recordings of visits with typing hidden, roughly where you are and, if you’re a member, who you are | Your consent, through the cookie choice. You can change it at any time |
| To run the site, count visits and keep it secure | Technical information from your browser | Our legitimate interests |
| To make sure we never write to you after you’ve asked us not to | Your email address, on a do-not-contact list | Our legitimate interests in respecting your choice |
| To meet our legal duties, and to answer your requests and complaints | What each one needs | Our legal obligations |
Who helps us
We never sell your information, and we never share it with other brands for their marketing.
Two companies help us run Aurre. They use your information only on our instructions, under contracts that require them to keep it safe, and never for themselves.
- Zoho keeps our records and runs our emails, our chat and our site analytics (Zoho CRM, Marketing Automation, SalesIQ and PageSense).
- Cloudflare hosts our website, receives what you send us and keeps it securely until it’s in our records at Zoho, and counts visits without cookies.
Our pages also load some of their code, for the animation, from jsDelivr, a free public network for open-source code. As with any website, your browser shares your IP address with it so it can send the files. It never receives anything you tell us.
Beyond that, we’d share your information only if the law required it, or if Aurre’s business moved into a company or to a new owner. Your information would then move with it, protected by this notice, and we’d tell you first.
Where it’s kept
Zoho keeps our records in its data centre in the United States. Cloudflare’s network runs around the world, so a visit may be handled outside the UK.
Whenever your information leaves the UK, it’s protected by the safeguards UK law requires. Cloudflare is certified under the UK’s data bridge with the United States (the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). Zoho protects it with the contract clauses approved for transfers from the UK, in its data processing agreement with us. Ask us if you’d like to know more.
How long we keep it
No longer than we need it.
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Your membership | As long as you’re in the Circle. If you ask to leave, we delete your details within 30 days, apart from your email address, which goes on a do-not-contact list so we never write to you again. |
| If you unsubscribe | We stop writing straight away. Your membership stays for a year in case you’d like to come back, and is then deleted. |
| If our emails go unopened | After two years without opening one, we’ll ask whether you’d like to stay, and delete your membership if we don’t hear back. |
| Your survey answers | With your membership, and deleted with it. Totals that can’t identify anyone, such as how many women chose each length, we may keep. |
| Messages and chats | Two years from your last message, or as long as you’re in the Circle, if that’s longer. |
| How the site is used, with your permission | Up to 12 months. |
| On your device | Until you choose Forget me on this device on your Circle card, or clear your browser’s data for our site. |
If you ask us to delete something, we keep a short note that you asked and what we did, so we can show it was done.
Your rights
You can ask us to do any of these, free of charge.
- See what we hold. Ask for a copy of your information, and how we use it.
- Correct it. Change your length and date of birth on your Circle card, or ask us to correct anything else.
- Delete it. Ask us to delete your information, and we will, unless the law requires us to keep something.
- Limit or object. Ask us to stop or limit a use of your information. You can always stop our emails, and we’ll never ask why.
- Take it with you. Ask for what you gave us in a common format, to keep or to pass on.
- Change your mind. Where we rely on your consent, withdraw it whenever you like, by leaving the Circle, unsubscribing or through Cookie settings. It doesn’t affect what we did before.
We don’t make decisions about you by computer alone.
To ask, email hello@aurre.co.uk. We’ll reply within a month, and may ask you to confirm it’s you, usually by writing from the email address you joined with. To stop our emails, use the link at the foot of any of them.
If you’re unhappy
Please tell us first, at hello@aurre.co.uk, so we can put it right. We’ll let you know we’ve received it within 30 days.
You can also complain to the ICO, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Age
The Aurre Circle is for anyone aged 16 or over. Our forms won’t accept a date of birth under 16, and if we find we’ve been given the details of someone under 16, we delete them.
Changes
We’ll update this notice whenever what we do changes, and before our shop opens, to cover orders, payments and delivery. If a change affects information you’ve already given us, we’ll email you before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
